Refugee Crisis In East Africa
There are approximately three million people fleeing their homelands in parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi and Somalia due to violence and conflict between tribal, religious and political groups, as well as economic and environmental disasters. Those most susceptible to these situations are women and children. Many of these women have experienced extreme abuse, emotional trauma and sexual violence, and many children are orphaned and have to fend for themselves. With no end in sight for stability in their home countries, these individuals have no choice but to leave their homes in search of refuge in foreign countries.
