Bead & Reel's Fair Trade Fashion Show

Bead & Reel's 3rd annual Fair Trade Fashion Show in Los Angeles provides a unique and effective platform for education and spreading awareness on the realities of modern slavery using fashion.  This year's fundraiser will support Free The Slaves, an international nonprofit dedicated to liberating slaves and changing the conditions that allow slavery to persist today. FTS believes in a multi-faceted approach to fighting slavery, but combatting this horrible crime requires one key action: for businesses to clean up their supply chains and consumers to demand slavery-free products like fair trade fashion. Join us in raising money and awareness to end modern slavery!

Chef Ronak Patel will prepare a Moroccan-inspired dinner using Fair Trade ingredients. Join us for a robust discussion of the ethical and economic consequences of Fair and Direct Trade at Read It & Eat, a culinary bookstore located in the heart of Lincoln Park.
