The Maisha Collective Fellow (Nairobi) The Maisha Collective Fellowship Program offers established designers and/or design students the opportunity to work directly with Maisha Collective members by teaching them new designs and skills, ultimately leading to a more diverse collection and increased sales. The internship is an unpaid position. Primary responsibilities include the following: 1) Assist with product development by strengthening existing line, as well as incorporating new designs, fabrics, and dyes to compliment trends in the western market; 2) Train and monitor quality control and advise on methods to improve process; 3) Work with project manager and members to develop strategy and timeline for implementing future product line; 4) Help the project manager facilitate weekly meetings, monitor inventory, and manage issues and concerns; and 5) Assist with developing marketing campaign to target buyers in Kenya and abroad. Teaching Assistant Intern
(Nairobi) The teaching assistant intern will support the teaching team
of the Girls' Empowerment Project with all aspects of daily implementation.
This includes supporting teaching lessons, developing curriculums, assessing
progress, and report writing. Qualifications should include a degree in
education, special education, or some experience working in education

Communications Fellow
(Nairobi) Heshima Kenya welcomes professionals with a background
in journalism or communications and an interest in refugee, immigration, human
rights and women’s rights to apply for this fellowship. This role will support
Heshima Kenya’s digital and print communication initiatives and help to tell
the stories of the girls we serve in a creative and dignified manner. Past and
current fellows have supported fundraising initiatives, drafted print and
online communications, supported aspects of grant writing and assisted in event
